Support my challenge for kids facing cancer.

Every month in Australia, 90 children are diagnosed with cancer.

For those families, their lives are changed forever. Cancer puts families under enormous pressure. It can feel like it’s impossible to hold it together.

This May, I am taking part in the Heartbreak to Hope Walk to raise funds for Redkite to provide emotional, financial and practical support and care to families facing childhood cancer.

Please sponsor me by making a donation to support my walk.

Together, we can show these children and their families that they don't have to face cancer alone and support them as they face the toughest time of their lives.

Thank you.

My LinkedIn post and my reason

Thursday 1st May

When Red Kite presented this charity walk to our company, I had tears in my eyes and was eager to participate.

For those who know me, you are aware that we spent years in the hospital with my child, on and off. Although we weren't impacted by cancer, we witnessed many who were. I remember sitting in a waiting room and hearing a dad cancel his attendance at a conference because they had just found cancer in his daughter's leg, and she needed immediate surgery and treatment.

While I am walking in memory of a colleague we lost to cancer, my heart is with all the children and parents struggling right now, whether they are about to start the journey, halfway through, or on the other side.

I am curious to hear about your experiences and how you or your loved ones have been impacted by cancer. If you feel comfortable, please share your stories or let me know how I can support you.

The walk is in May, and it starts today.

Thank you for reading.

Ps. The photo is of a toy my kid played with to process what she went through. This is Norah, she is laying in a cot with a paper oxygen tank, with nasal tubing and likely pipe-cleaner cannulas.
